Open Quest scholarships support talented non-profit leaders from around the world. We provide training, mentoring and access to our vibrant network of change-makers to strengthen individuals and deepen the impact of their organisations.

Leaders who are eligible include those who…

  • Work for a non-profit organisation (staff, board members, programme beneficiaries). This includes grassroots organisers and artists if the values and issues they focus on align with our work.
  • Have a dynamic and bold vision for tackling global challenges on any scale.
  • Demonstrate a track record of leadership within their community, organisation or sector.
  • Are committed to capturing impact and outcomes beyond the Quest experience in both the mentorship programme and peer-learning sessions.
  • Are open to sharing their personal story and learning from others.

“When you take the time to pause and engage with different people, it is refreshing. It is good to have that full change of perspective of being, doing. ”

The selection process

A panel of three individuals from our international team reviews applications and conducts phone/Skype conversations with shortlisted candidates. We select a diverse combination of leaders working across different issues and countries. We prioritise leaders who demonstrate an openness and curiosity about the world, who believe in the mutual benefit of learning and sharing, and who are committed to the transformation of themselves, their organisations and the world.

Here's what our scholars have said about the programme:

“The experience really changed my way of thinking – I always undervalued the role I played in my community, but I now know how important it is being a leader.”

“A journey of the unexpected and an extraordinary experience. How lovely to feel a sense of belonging with people who I initially felt were way out of my league.”

“The opportunity to get time and space to reflect on the need to lead with compassion, be compassionate to ourselves and accept the same from others, has been extremely valuable. This is an experience every manager and leader should experience.”

Applications for 2016 are now closed. We will reopen our scholarships in January 2017.

We are actively seeking partners to help us support talented non-profit leaders from across the globe.
