UK Foundation Trustee
Fiona is an independent consultant, based in Nairobi. She channels her interest in young people’s futures, promoting accountable governance and protecting the natural world through her consultancy work and in a personal capacity.
Previous experience includes International Advocacy Director with the Open Society Foundations, Associate Campaigns Director on Environmental Governance at Global Witness in London, and Save the Children. Fiona was a founding board member of the Ethical Trade Initiative, and co-founded the Publish What You Pay campaign which led to the establishment of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. In the 1990s, Fiona played a leading role in the UK Ban Landmines Campaign, following her MA in Community Health Fieldwork covering landmine injury in Cambodia.
She currently lives in Nairobi with her husband Mark Napier. She is a trustee of Africa’s Voices Foundation and the Environmental Funders Network.
Fiona has been a host and an associate on several occasions for Leaders’ Quest between 2007 and 2018.
