This year’s International Youth Day, themed “Transforming Education”, is highlighting efforts to make education more accessible and equitable.

At LQ, we’re privileged to have met many organisations – during our Quests around the world – who are helping young people fulfil their potential.

We want to celebrate them today. Their stories show that we can all be agents of positive change – for young people’s present and their future.

Dream a dream – Bangalore, India

Based in Bangalore, Dream a Dream is transforming education by teaching young people creative life skills, mentoring their parents and teachers, connecting them with inspirational figures – and influencing change-makers to grant them opportunities.

Desert Stars – Lahav, Israel

Through a model that spans high-school education, empowerment & leadership programmes and network building, Desert Stars is helping Bedouin youth in Israel maintain their heritage – and narrowing the gap between these communities and the rest of society.

The Big House Theatre Company – London, UK

The Big House works with care leavers and youth at risk of social exclusion. They give them a platform to participate in theatre-making, where their voices can be heard.

They’re transforming education through dramatic arts, life skills and therapeutic intervention.

Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), NYC

HEAF provide under-served students from across #NYC with after school enrichment through an ambitious academic curriculum. They also offer their students personal support, empowering them to dream big and reach their goals.

Codemao, Shenzhen

Codemao is an education platform that teaches programming to children. It works with schools and robotic education startups to provide coding lessons to create games and interactive videos. They are transforming education by showing children in China the creative side of tech.

We're proud to be associated with these incredible hosts - and many more - who are changing lives around the world.
